Surprise!

I went to visit Beck and Roo at their new digs back on this side of the state the other day. It was nice to see them and check out the new house that the cats are now calling home. After relaxin and having dinner it was soon time to go. Roo had made me a few CD’s that I was lookin forward to listening to on the drive home, but when I got in my car, I could not immediately locate them. I hopped out of my car and as I made my way around the corner I caught sight of Roo and the Pix in the doorway. The temptation to surprise was WAY too much for me to ignore, so I crept a few more step and lunged into the doorway, my head bonking on the glass to add to the drama. That’s when all hell broke loose. Randy was a little startled, but the bigger picture was that I clearly scared the living bejesus out of the Pix. As Roo tells it, he saw the Pix’s eyes widen to the size of saucers before the fat cat used his neck and arm as a launching pads. Women and cats first in all emergencies. So the cat tears ass out of the kitchen and Randy collapses in a fit of laughter (and maybe a touch of pain) as we examine the now open wounds on his neck and arm. Spectacular. My side is just about split from laughing and I have now developed a case of the hiccups. Beck cannot figure out what exactly happened but knows that A) her boyfriend is rolling on the floor, B) her friend is in the doorway laughing, hiccupping and on the verge of tears and C) the pix is sitting in the doorway trying to get his blood pressure back below 200. Upon further review, it seems that the CD’s WERE in my car. Who knew. I thanked them again and left on my merry way. The side cramps and the 20 min hiccups were TOTALLY worth it.

I feel for the Pix. New house, new smells, your threats of death during dinner…no wonder he ran for his life! Even if it did mean leaving the guy who feeds him lying on the floor bloodied…
